Senator pushes cannabis banking bill amendment to provide industry access to small business administration services
Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) says that the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act should be amended to allow cannabis businesses to access federal Small Business Administration (SBA) services, reports Marijuana Moment.
The publication writes that whether the banking bill is revised to include Rosen’s standalone SBA legislation remains to be seen.
For now, Marijuana Moment highlights that discussions have centered around passing the SAFE Banking Act out of committee as a standalone, then moving on the floor to attach justice-focused provisions.
US cannabis concentrates sales aided by simpler, cheaper consumption devices
Nationally, including medical and recreational markets, concentrate sales have jumped from some $1.9 billion in 2020 to $2.4 billion in 2022, reports MJ Biz Daily.
A report from Chicago-based cannabis analytics firm Brightfield Group has projected concentrate sales to reach $3.2 billion in 2024.
The publication notes that by educating consumers about easier-to-use concentrate-consumption devices, and by positioning concentrates as a product not just for connoisseurs and hard-core or veteran consumers, retailers have been able to increase concentrate sales.
