About the Grow Access Project
The Grow Access Project was originally designed to reduce cost-related barriers to prescribed cannabis medicines for patients on benefits and UK armed forces veterans. By extending this program to Blue Light Card holders, Grow Pharma aims to further its mission of improving accessibility to cannabis medicines.
The benefits are a reduced cost of medicines, which is available at any UK clinic when prescriptions are sent to their joint venture partner IPS Pharma. You can access this by requesting that your doctor sends your prescription to IPS Pharma, and marks/stamps it as “GAP”. Those eligible are also entitled to a free first appointment and reduced repeat prescription fees at Integro Clinics.
Pierre Van Weperen, CEO of Grow Pharma, stated, “We are thrilled to extend the Grow Access Project to include Blue Light Card holders. They dedicate their lives to serving our communities. Their physical and especially their mental health can be severely stressed, and we feel that we can contribute by supporting them by improving their access to essential cannabis medicines.
This idea came following an opinion piece I created about the differing attitudes between some countries towards veterans using medical cannabis for mental health. Through writing this, researching the topic and hearing patient stories from front-line workers across UK civil services I felt that we just had to do something, and increasing access for all who could benefit is one of our key reasons to exist.”
