Grow Group Transforms UK Cannabis Distribution Landscape with Avida Medical Deal

    By

UK Medical cannabis operator Grow Group has announced a significant expansion of its full-service UK medical cannabis distribution platform, as it launches the newly rebranded Grow Group UK.

As part of this evolution, Grow Group UK has concluded its long-standing joint venture with IPS Pharma, marking the end of their partnership in Grow Pharma Ltd. Since its launch in 2019, Grow Pharma Ltd became one of the UK’s leading medical cannabis distributors, supplying medicines to tens of thousands of patients over the past six years.

Grow Pharma has now been dissolved by mutual consent of both parties, as Grow Group prepares to launch its new UK-focused venture, which will ensure the company can offer a complete, 100% owned, range of services in the market.

On July 4, Grow confirmed the completion of its acquisition of 100% of Avida Medical Ltd, a fully licensed UK Specials manufacturer and distributor, which will now trade as Grow Group UK.

This move effectively consolidates Grow’s UK operations under a single, fully-owned EU GMP certified entity, and marks a strategic shift towards a fully integrated UK medical cannabis distribution and manufacturing platform.

The newly branded Grow Group UK will act as a comprehensive platform for both domestic and international clients, offering a broad suite of services including:

    • Direct importation and domestic distribution
    • Wholesale and retail supply
    • Specials formulation and own-brand sourcing
    • Third-party logistics (3PL)
    • In-house manufacturing
    • Pharmacy and clinic services
    • Regulatory and market access consultancy
    • Financial services and custom tech solutions

Grow Group UK’s expanded flower portfolio remains the largest in the UK, featuring popular patient favourites such as Aurora, Peace Naturals, Tilray, and Big Narstie Medical. The portfolio also includes new additions from Herdade das Barrocas (three new strains) and Safricanna (ten new strains), alongside a curated selection of premium craft Canadian brands including Broken Coast, Green Joy, Organicraft, and Habitat.

In a joint statement, Pierre van Weperen, Managing Director of Grow Group UK, and Benjamin Langley, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grow Group, said: ““We are grateful to IPS Pharma for six years of partnership, during which we built Grow Pharma into a leading force in UK medical cannabis distribution. We wish them every success in the future and look forward to this new chapter for Grow Group UK.

“We are excited to announce how our UK distribution platform will now move forward to ensure we can offer a complete, 100% owned range of services in the UK market, with our UK distribution operations now called ‘Grow Group UK’ going forward.

“In addition to our comprehensive flower portfolio, we will soon be introducing a full suite of manufactured products—including oils, vape cartridges, lozenges, and several new modes of administration—designed to support a broad range of patient therapies. These upcoming additions reflect our commitment to innovation and ensuring patients have access to the widest possible selection of high-quality medical cannabis treatments in the UK.”
