Tilray medical recently saw its further expansion into Europe by offering its EU-GMP, pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis products in Malta.
The company is now expanding its offering of medical cannabis products through the launch of the first EU GMP medical cannabis oil products in Malta.
The products will be available in pharmacies across Malta.
Tilray chief strategy officer and head of international business, Denise Faltischek, stated: “Demand for medical cannabis in Malta is growing rapidly and we are incredibly proud to service patients with the high-quality medical cannabis products they rely on and in the formats they prefer.”
The company – which was the first to successfully import medical cannabis products into Europe in 2016 – is expanding into Europe – has a number one leading position in Europe’s largest medical cannabis market, Germany, with a 20 per cent market share.
It recently stated it is poised to further benefit from the legalisation of recreational cannabis in the country.
The success of its ongoing progress in the region has been attributed to its two state-of-the-art cultivation facilities in Portugal and Germany that provide EU GMP-certified pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis.
Patients in Malta will be able to obtain prescriptions for Tilray’s medical cannabis products along with a medical cannabis card through family doctors, which are issued by Malta’s Superintendent of Public Health.
In January the company announced a highly-profitable second quarter, with its net income increasing to USD$6m (~£4.38m) from a net loss of $89m in the previous year quarter.
