Strange Bedfellows? Molson collabs for new cannabis beer

    By

Truss, the cannabis beverage joint venture between HEXO and Molson Coors, has teamed up with award-winning craft brewers Two Roots for its newest cannabis drinks, two de-alcoholized, infused beers under the name Bedfellows, reports Benzinga.

    Two flavours, two potencies

So far, there are two flavous: Haus Mates is a lighter beer which balances “malt sweetness with floral noble hop character,” according to the website. It has 7.5 mg of THC and 2.5 mg of CBD. Indie Pals has a slight bitter taste, with notes of stone fruit and hops, and has 10 mg of THC and 2 mg of CBD.

    Crafted collaboratively

So far, Truss has launched five other drinks brands: XMG, Veryvell, Mollo, Little Victory and House of Terpenes. It’s their first collaboration — with a Molson Coors competitor no less.

Truss’s head of marketing Lori Hatcher told Benzinga that her team was “inspired by the notion of two unlikely partners coming together to bring something entirely new and unexpected to the Cannabis infused beverage category.”

    Drinks disruptor?

Maikel van de Mortel of Two Roots said there are more consumers looking for non-alcoholic, alternative drinks for kicking back and relaxing.

“Now more than ever, consumers are looking for alternative adult beverage options to socialize and relax.”
