This week’s CCSI report examines newly-released medical cannabis sales data.
Although the data is only current to September 2019, Cannabis Benchmarks has modeled medical cannabis sales from October 2019 through February 2020. Sales of cannabis to registered patients have declined sharply since the recreational market opened, but our projections indicate that they will eventually find a bottom even as recreational sales continue to grow.
The increasing presence of recreational retailers in Ontario, which leads all provinces in medical cannabis sales, should result in an overall drop in medical sales nationwide.
