It’s here! KONOPEX is once again opening the doors to the world of cannabis – and this time it’s a celebration of a new era and the future of cannabis. From the beginning of 2026, the cultivation and processing of cannabis is finally legal. New rules and new opportunities, built on the solid foundation of experts in cannabis cultivation, processing and medical use.

Come and see what exhibitors and leading figures of the cannabis industry have prepared for you. The 9th edition of the KONOPEX Cannabis Trade Show will take place from 24 to 26 April 2026 at the Trojhalí Karolina complex in the city centre of Ostrava, Czech Republic, and will showcase the cannabis plant and its many versatile uses. As more and more seniors and patients benefit from its medical properties, visitors aged 65 and over, as well as people with disabilities (ZTP and ZTP/P card holders), can enter KONOPEX free of charge.

Over 130 leading Czech and international exhibitors will present their products and latest innovations. You can look forward to special trade fair discounts, tastings, samples, competitions, as well as lectures, consultations, a diverse side programme with live music and unique food specials.

In addition to concerts and entertainment, you can look forward to a packed three-day conference program. Around 40 leading experts will present approximately 30 talks covering topics such as self-medication, medical practice, cultivation, breeding, legislation, decriminalisation, legalisation and regulation, technologies, processing, extraction, as well as food and industrial applications and other current topics from the world of cannabis.

Right next to the lecture hall you will find a comfortable Medical & Vapo zone, where you can try different types of vaporizers and consult your questions with experts on vaporisation and cannabis treatment in general.

Seeds and seedlings, equipment, processing, home extraction and testing the cannabinoid content of your cannabis

Once again, you can look forward to cannabis seeds and seedlings, a full growshop assortment, and equipment for both cultivation and post-harvest processing of cannabis. You will also meet professional growers, processors, and producers of cannabis ointments, cosmetics, food products, and a wide range of other items related to this remarkable plant.

Fans of the 420 & 710 community will enjoy all kinds of clever and unique gadgets and smoking accessories, artisan hand-blown glass, as well as essential tools and accessories for both solvent and solventless extraction. Interested in water extraction? On site you’ll also find a home extraction lab – a so-called “washroom” – where you can learn everything you need to know about this method. A very popular option is also on-site water analysis and testing the active compound content of your cannabis or cannabis products.

You can look forward to a rich side programme with packed concerts, entertaining performances, workshops, a big raffle, themed competitions, a relax zone, a cannabis cup, a chilli-eating contest, and an evening canna afterparty. The workshops are particularly interesting for their practical focus, giving visitors a close-up look at how hemp ointment is made, how plants are propagated, or how hempcrete is mixed. Another popular highlight is a workshop dedicated to different extraction methods and material preparation.

Three days of intense focus on the most versatile – and at the same time most debated – plant on the planet. Hemp has proven its properties and uses over centuries, not only in the textile and paper industries, construction (concrete, insulation, sealing materials, ropes, paints/varnishes), but also in the automotive sector and many other fields.

Hemp has rightly earned the title of a plant of the future, offering numerous benefits as well as inspiration for further research. It is known for its significant potential in medicine; it can be used to create beneficial food supplements and superfoods, as well as effective ointments, cosmetics and dermatological products suitable for both humans and animals. Hemp is becoming an essential part of the modern home medicine cabinet and sparks curiosity and interest across all generations.

Cannabis legalisation and a positive outlook

Czechia is a cannabis powerhouse. After years of active advocacy, we can finally celebrate a major step forward and new cannabis legislation. Come and join us in celebrating the end of the era when we were criminalised for growing a plant which, despite the threat of penalties, kept growing everywhere – in gardens, on windowsills and on the balconies of hobby growers, pensioners and patients alike.

    What is and isn’t allowed?

From the beginning of 2026, adults (21+) will be allowed to grow up to 3 cannabis plants and possess up to 25 g of dried cannabis outside their home (and up to 100 g at home).

A minor offence punishable by a fine may occur if you grow 4–5 cannabis plants or if you possess dried cannabis – up to 50 g outside your home and up to 200 g at home.

Exceeding these limits will be treated as a criminal offence!

It may seem like these figures are ridiculous or even illogical. Admittedly, the new change is still far from perfect, but it’s a great starting point for further development. The next logical steps in improving cannabis legislation include the possibility of establishing cannabis social clubs and creating a regulated market for so-called “recreational cannabis”.
