Vigia AG Signs MoU With Teera Botanicals Co. Ltd

Vigia AG joins hands with Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd to support the research and compliance of cannabis cultivation in Thailand according to GACP and EU-GMP standards using the Cannavigia compliance suite.

On 9th September 2022, Vigia AG and Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the technological development and compliance of cannabis cultivation in Thailand through the Cannavigia compliance software by the Swiss company Vigia AG.

Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Teera Group which is a Thai-based Southeast Asian Ecosystem Builder that invests in, operates, develops, and applies innovations across the entire medicinal herb value chain, focusing on organic compounds (cannabinoids) to discover and deliver quality products and standards for the industry.

Their operations collaboration with the Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro- Industrial Product Improvement Institute (KAPI) at Kasetsart University aims to apply internationally recognized and localized standards at the site to form the fundamentals of what they set out to achieve.

“The collaboration with the university also includes ancillary products, services, Human Resources and technologies, such as Cannavigia”, explains Khun Note, CEO and founder of Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd. “We work together with Vigia to further develop the Thai cannabis market and to meet standards using the Cannavigia software”.

Compliance and education for an emerging market

The main objectives of Vigia’s collaboration with Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd. are as follows:

  • Work together to support the research and technological development of cannabis in Thailand and ensure their compliance with GACP, EU-GMP as well as localized standards using the Cannavigia compliance suite.
  • Support Teera Botanicals Co., Ltd. with the development of any other technological aspects linked to cannabis cultivation.
  • Collaborate to set up the pilot facility at Kasetsart University in Thailand to international standards to be used as an educational facility to showcase compliance in the cannabis industry.

Cooperate to build a curriculum together focused on the training for compliance in collaboration with other universities in Europe and Africa.

The signing of this MoU marks Vigia’s first collaboration with a research and development facility in Thailand. Vigia’s CEO Luc Richner states: “The objective is to facilitate compliance and education in this emerging market. We are proud to support the market in its development”.
