Portugal-based cannabis equipment distributor Paralab Green has signed a distribution agreement with Israeli automation manufacturer Hefestus Technologies, bringing the AuraX automated pre-roll machine and the wider Hefestus equipment portfolio to licensed European producers.
The agreement is Paralab Green’s third major European cannabis equipment distribution deal in just over two years, following a July 12, 2024 partnership with US post-harvest specialist Cannatrol and a February 27, 2025 agreement with decontamination and packaging firm VIST Labs.
The Portuguese distributor, which in 2024 supplied more than 70% of licensed production facilities across the EU, is positioning itself as a single technical and service point for European producers stitching together EU-GMP-grade equipment lines.
Hefestus’ flagship AuraX produces up to 2,000 pre-rolls an hour with a single operator and can handle cones, straight rolls, blunts and infused pre-rolls. The Israeli manufacturer’s wider portfolio also includes the LumineX pre-roll machine, TerpPreserve grinding technology, and end-of-line packaging and labelling systems. Paralab Green, which operates from offices in Portugal and Spain, will provide installation support and post-sale servicing across the region.
“We look for partners who share our commitment to reliable, well-engineered equipment and long-term customer relationships. Hefestus has already shown what the AuraX can do with leading brands in North America. We’re thrilled to bring that same reliability and performance to licensed producers in Europe, backed by Paralab’s local support,” said Rui Soares, CEO of Paralab.
Paralab Green, the cannabis and botanical division of Paralab, launched in 2018 and now supplies postharvest equipment, from trimming and decontamination through to extraction and packaging, to licensed producers across Europe, Israel, North Africa and Latin America. The parent company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and operates an EU-GMP certified laboratory licensed for cannabis R&D.
For Hefestus, the agreement extends a European footprint built initially in North America, where multi-state operators have deployed the AuraX at commercial scale.
“Installing a pre-roll machine is a major decision for a producer. They want to understand how it performs with their material, how easily their team can operate it and what support looks like after installation,” said Shahar Yamay, CEO of Hefestus USA. “Paralab has spent years working with licensed producers across Europe.”
Pre-rolls remain a marginal format in Europe’s medical-dominated market. But growing adult-use pilots in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, alongside the Czech reform push, are beginning to widen the commercial case for format automation on the continent.
