ONE of Europe’s leading hemp and cannabis organisations has announced a senior appointment.
Francesco Mirizzi joins the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) as Senior Policy Advisor to deliver on a wide-ranging brief, with a particular focus on sustainability.
He said: “I am extremely honoured to join the team and this wonderful sector, especially considering the particular times we are living. I feel I am in the right place at the right time: it is now that the EU and Member States are called to make bold choices. Hemp can be their ally and we will make sure they know it.”

With an in-depth background in the European farming sector Francesco will be responsible for the EIHA’s construction and textile portfolios.
Francesco has worked for French drinks company Pernod Ricard and previously held advocate roles in the cotton, hemp, wine, olive and olive oil industries
Ms Lorenza Romanese, EIHA Managing Director, said: “Francesco’s work will particularly focus on promoting the sustainable and multi-purpose profile of the hemp crop…and (help) accelerate the transition towards a bio-based economy.”
The EIHA is a consortium of the hemp-processing industry. It has 130 members in more than 30 European countries.
