Nevada Welcomes New Head of Cannabis Compliance Board

    By

Nevada’s Cannabis Compliance Board has welcomed a new Executive Director as its incumbent leader Tyler Klimas departs to establish a cannabis consulting company.

According to Nevada Current, the states former Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs James Humm will now take the helm at the cannabis regulator.

Humm has worked at the Governor’s Office of Economic Development since 2019, starting as Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, where he ‘successfully passed several economic development related bills and contributed to the approval and signage of several others’.

Klimas told the publication: “I approached the governor’s office in September and let them know I’d be transitioning out. So we’ve worked over the last couple of months to put a transition plan in place and he appointed Jimmy Humm, who I’m with right now and who’s going to take over the role.”

Humm added: “I am humbled and honored to be appointed by Governor Lombardo to serve in this role. I look forward to joining the incredible team at the Cannabis Compliance Board and executing the Governor’s agenda to ethically regulate this burgeoning industry.”
