Nevada’s Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) approved six new conditional licences for consumption lounges last week (October 24).
Alongside the issuance of half a dozen new licences, the CCB has reportedly begun implementing changes to streamline the agency’s procedures, including measures such as replacing cannabis establishment licence numbers, which are required to appear on the labels of cannabis products, with identification numbers.
All six of the new consumption lounges, a number of which were awarded to some of the country’s largest cannabis operators, are set to be opened in Las Vegas.
Curaleaf Holdings was among the companies to be granted a conditional licence, and is set to open a retail-attached consumption lounge through its subsidiary Tryke Companies at its Reef Dispensary.
Green Thumb Industries (GTI) is also set to open a retail-attached consumption lounge through subsidiary Integral Associates on The Strip.
This will trade as Cookies Lounge and is understood to be located adjacent to the Cookies On The Strip store.
The other four conditional licences were awarded to NevadaPURE, Desert Evolution, TGIG, and Higher Archy.
Following the grant of these conditional licences, these companies will have one year to launch an operational lounge.
