Missouri’s Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) has announced it has issued 48 cannabis microbusiness licenses.

The licenses have been awarded to top applicants drawn in the state’s cannabis license lottery that took place on August 28.

In total, six microbusiness licenses were awarded within each of Missouri’s eight congressional districts, two of which were microbusiness dispensary licenses and four of which were microbusiness wholesale facility licenses.

DCR has stated that in order to ensure the integrity of the lottery draw, it was conducted without reference to the identities of the applicants.

More than 1,6000 applications were received for licenses during the application period between 27 July and 10 August.

The DCR stated: “Any applicant not chosen by lottery is eligible for a refund, which must be requested by submitting a microbusiness application refund request form.

“A refund may be granted if the applicant certifies it met the criteria for a license and has no pending or future litigation. Requests for a refund will be accepted beginning 2 November, 2023, and the microbusiness application refund request form and refund instructions will be available on the Department website by that date.”

The department has also confirmed that an additional 48 licenses will be issued through each subsequent application/lottery window in 2024 and 2025.
