This week’s Canada Cannabis Spot Index report provides an update on the state of retail cannabis access across Canada in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the most part, cannabis cultivators and retailers have been deemed essential businesses and may stay open under the emergency orders issued by provincial governments. However, cannabis stores have been ordered to close in a couple smaller provinces. Online ordering remains an option, although delivery procedures have changed due to the current situation.
As the pandemic develops, though, more stringent restrictions on businesses and Canadian residents may be imposed, which could result in notable pain for an industry that was already facing several challenges.
