Husband And Wife CBD Drinks Firm Secures £3.5m To Help Them With Their TRIP

CBD firm TRIP has secured £3.5m with support from high-profile investors including Maria Raga, Depop CEO, and serial entrepreneur Christian Angermayer.

The London-based company says funds will support its diversification into Europe and the US and content and product development.

TRIP was founded by husband-and-wife team Daniel Khoury and Olivia Ferdi, who met at the University of Cambridge and subsequently left careers in law and finance to launch the CBD business.

In a press release Ms Ferdi said: “Changing perceptions of wellbeing and building new lifestyles with our TRIP range and CBD expertise, we’re excited to take this next step for TRIP together with these amazing partners.”

Maria Raga, CEO and founder of Gen-Z fashion re-sale app Depop, said: “TRIP understands the power of connection and community having built a cult of loyal fans.

“Gen-Z’s attitudes to lifestyle and wellbeing are changing the landscape and TRIP is positioned to continue to drive connection in this space, set to become a global leader in next-generation wellness.”

CBD Into The ‘Mainstream

Mr Angermeyer has created, co-founded and invested in numerous successful companies raising around $2bn for his portfolio. The Sunday Times ranks him amongst the 1,000 richest people in the UK.

He is also founder of biotech company atai Life Sciences. He said: “TRIP has created a stand-out brand that has made it easy for millions of consumers to try CBD for the first time. I believe TRIP will be the brand that brings CBD truly into the mainstream. I’m really excited to be part of the journey with this fantastic team.”

TRIP is available in over 2,000 locations including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Equinox & Liberty and has also announced its appointment as the exclusive CBD brand to Soho House Group globally.

It also has created a CBD store with Deliveroo available across 15 locations in the UK.

Weeks before their wedding, Mr Khoury was injured and told he wouldn’t be able to walk down the aisle; it was then that the couple found CBD and just weeks after knee surgery Daniel was back on his feet.

In a press release they says they became passionate about creating a premium range of innovative, great-tasting CBD products and ‘share the powerful benefits of the hemp plant’.
