Six big stories you might have missed this week from both our cannabis titles

It’s been a busy week in the cannabis world – and at H&W Media headquarters.

This week, we launched our new title, Cannabis Wealth, which will focus on business, investment and policy at an exciting time for the industry.

Cannabis Health will keep doing what it does, bringing you the must-read stories about health and wellness in the cannabis world.

With so much going on – and now with two websites to read – you could be forgiven for missing the odd bit of news.

1. ‘Food Standards Agency answers key CBD questions after 48 hours of confusion

The Food Standards Agency has moved to address concerns about the novel foods regulations roll out after 48 hours of confusion in the industry.

Officials working for the regulator are sifting through more than 750 applications made before the March 31 deadline that was set ahead of the imposition of new rules on the sector.

On April 19, the FSA published the first public register of products which have been ‘validated’ and given the green light to remain on UK shelves pending full authorisation – but just 23 products from three firms were included.

2. ‘Appalled’: Chanelle McCoy of Pureis CBD pulls no punches on state of industry’

One of the first and only businesses so far to get validation is Pureis CBD, which got on early and is reaping the rewards.

Celeb investor Chanelle McCoy, who co-founded the firm, spoke to Cannabis Wealth about a landmark week for her company – and she didn’t mince her words about other CBD firms.

Arjun Rajyagor and Ben Hamburger had the sort of careers young would-be businesspeople dreamed of, plying their trade at some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious corporate firms.

The trouble is, they hated it – so they quit. Now they’re running a medical cannabis company which is aiming to get the market moving in the UK by winning over clinicians with cold, hard data.

New research has backed up patients’ views that medical cannabis helps with long-lasting pain.

Women’s health is routinely looked over in the health system, campaigners say.

6. ‘Dad-of-three says cannabis helped him beat terminal cancer’

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Scott Davis started taking cannabis oil. Despite being given 12 to 18 months to live, two-and-a-half years later the tumour has “disappeared”.

In the summer of 2018 at the age of 38, Scott Davis started experiencing stomach cramps and loss of appetite. When he started losing weight without explanation, he decided to visit his doctor.
