TIME TO VOTE
Cannabis legalization on five state ballots this November
This November, voters in five states — Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota — will decide on whether they want to legalize adult-use cannabis, reports Forbes.
Currently, 19 states, comprising 44 percent of the U.S. population, have legal adult-use cannabis markets.
If voters in Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota approve adult-use, about half of the U.S. population will reside in a jurisdiction where the possession and use of cannabis are legal for adults.

VETERAN BENEFITS
Senators make move to legalize medical cannabis for veterans
Marijuana Moment reports that Senators have filed another pair of cannabis amendments to a large-scale defense bill.
The new proposals, if enacted, would legalize medical cannabis for military veterans and press the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to ensure that people who served in uniform don’t miss out on federal home loan benefits just because they work in the cannabis industry.
The measure would allow veterans to legally possess and use cannabis under federal law, as recommended by doctors in accordance with state law. Physicians with VA would also be allowed for the first time to issue such recommendations. Further, it would require VA to study the therapeutic potential of cannabis for pain and reducing opioid misuse.
EXPANSION PLANS
Creso Pharma expands its medical cannabis footprint in Canada
Creso Pharma Ltd’s wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary Mernova Medicinal Inc. has progressed several initiatives to enter Canada’s medicinal cannabis market, reports Proactive Investors.
The major highlight includes being appointed as maiden distributor of medicinal cannabis products in Canada by JMF Growers, which is focused on the production, distribution and online sale of medicinal cannabis products to patients across the country.
“To have secured an agreement with a burgeoning medicinal cannabis distribution company and a Research Licence from Health Canada highlights the division’s innovative approach and are expected to provide a strong base for additional growth opportunities,” EO and managing director William Lay said.
