High Tide are Canada’s leading cannabis company for revenue

According to new data released by New Cannabis Ventures, High Tide is now Canada’s top revenue-generating cannabis company, reports Forbes

The company, which is the largest non-franchised cannabis retail chain in Canada, has 142 Canna Cabana bricks-and-mortar stores across the country, and Raj Grover, President and Chief Executive Officer of High Tide, says having great real estate is “arguably the single biggest factor in determining long-term success.”

Grover told the publication: “There isn’t simply one secret to High Tide’s growth and 10 straight quarters of positive EBITDA, rather, it is a result of leveraging several unique strengths.”

Rhode Island adult-use cannabis sales kick off just 6 months after legalization

Rhode Island’s long-awaited shift to adult-use cannabis sales finally arrives Thursday in the nation’s smallest state, a market that is expected to generate $300 million in sales within a few years, reports MJ Biz Daily

The state only approved recreational sales six months ago, and the quick roll out has seen Rhode Island’s municipalities authorise adult-use retail before the launch of sales.

The publication highlights that 33 of the state’s 39 municipalities – totalling 85% – have opted in, representing one of the highest percentage of opt-ins by municipalities among any recreational market.

Joe Pakuris, co-owner of Mother Earth Wellness, which opened its doors as a medical marijuana dispensary on 18 November, told the publication: “We’re anticipating to actually get back 50% of the people that are going to Massachusetts once they see the great product offering here in Rhode Island.”

Governor Steve Sisolak stated: “While most of the consumption lounges in other states don’t offer food, beverages or other entertainment options. “Nevada’s lounges will be a one-stop entertainment shop to create jobs, grow the industry and boost our economy.”

Czechia moves ahead of Germany in race to establish Europe’s first commercial adult-use cannabis market

Last year the country announced that comprehensive cannabis reform would be delivered by early 2024.

Now, there is a strong possibility the Czechia’s ruling right-leaning coalition will overtake Germany and become the first European country to create a commercially-based, adult-use cannabis market, reports BusinessCann

Benjamin-Alexandre Jeanroy, of Paris-based cannabis consultancy Augur Associates, told the publication that: “Germany has to overcome the lack of a majority in the Upper House, the Bundesrat, the issues caused by the conservatives slowing down cannabis reform, whilst the on-going differences between members of the Traffic-Light Coalition should not be underestimated.”
