US Cannabis Engineers Ink Two Deals And Move To Establish A European Base

    By

A PROMINENT firm of US cannabis horticulture engineers has made its first European move – announcing two deals and plans to open a European base.

One of North America’s best-performing cannabis market segments is ancillary businesses featuring companies such as ScottsMiracle-Gro and Innovative Industrial Properties.

Now, one of its leading players NADAQ-listed urban-gro, has inked partnerships with a company in Holland, and one in France as it prepares to open a European office, once Covid restrictions are lifted.

It says it is also close to completing work on a tailored engineering designs to adhere to Europe’s cannabis cultivation requirements.

    Tremendous Opportunity

This is the first such move by the US cannabis ancillaries industry into Europe and follows significant recent investments into UK businesses by Curaleaf and GenCanna earlier this month.

Bradley Nattrass, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of urban-gro, said: “The European market represents a tremendous growth opportunity for the company.

“With the rapidly growing demand for CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) solutions, we believe urban-gro is well-positioned to bring our acquired expertise in engineering, design and custom equipment system integration to this emerging market.

“These agent engagements represent the first key steps as we build our team and ultimately open our European office as soon as global conditions permit,”

In a press release urban-gro went on to say it plans to ‘leverage its partnerships and existing US-based engineering expertise and overhead to meet the increased demand for sustainable integrated CEA facilities and the cannabis industry expansion across Europe’.
