Cannabis Stocks Today — Wednesday 29 April 2026: Sector Slides as MAPS Falls 12.9%

    By

The BoC Cannabis Index slumped roughly 3.3% on Wednesday in one of the sector’s heaviest down-days of the spring, with the equal-weighted gauge weighed down by sharp double-digit losses across small-cap MSOs and ancillary tech names. Against a deep-red tape, Trulieve Cannabis defied the rout with a 7.0% gain — the only US multi-state operator to finish in positive territory.

Breadth was decisively negative: 32 of 39 tracked constituents closed lower, six rose and CRBP printed flat. The pain was concentrated in the OTC-listed plant-touching cohort, with MAPS, JUSHF and AYRWF all surrendering more than 12%, while sector ETFs MSOS, MJ, YOLO and CNBS dropped between 2.6% and 4.5% — confirming the sell-off was broad-based rather than name-specific. The Canadian LP cohort fared little better, with TLRY, ACB and CGC each shedding between 3.8% and 6.4%.

The session’s standout gainer was TCNNF, climbing 7.0% to $10.08 on no immediate news catalyst — likely a relief bid after recent weakness — making Trulieve a rare green print among the US multi-state operators. At the other end, WM Technology was the worst performer, falling 12.9% to $0.33 as the cannabis software ancillary continued its multi-quarter slide. Notable too were the heavy declines at established MSOs Curaleaf (-4.1%) and Green Thumb Industries (-4.3%), and a punishing 9.2% drop at Cresco Labs, while alcohol and pharma adjacencies STZ and JAZZ also closed lower despite the broader S&P holding firmer.

With sector breadth this negative and the index extending its recent slide, traders will be watching the next session for any sign of stabilisation in the OTC names that drove most of today’s damage. Track all cannabis stocks live on the Business of Cannabis Stocks Tracker.

Note: HMMJ.TO is part of the BoC Cannabis Stocks Index but was excluded from today’s calculation due to data-provider access limitations on Toronto-listed names.
