In wake of the publication of the CBD Novel Foods public list, the UK Government Chemist has delivered an educational seminar on CBD food supplements.
As the UK moves to be the world’s first regulated CBD industry, the Food Standards Agency’s (FSA) Novel Foods process has put in place rigorous testing and safety standards that will enable CBD products to be sold in the country.
The FSA’s Novel Foods list contains thousands of products linked to what are currently deemed as credible applications, as they have provided sufficient safety and toxicology data.Â

As the products on the list move towards final authorisation, expected by 2023, local authorities and retailers are being encouraged to remove from sale any products not included on the list.
Aimed at individuals working in control laboratories, the food industry as well as those in the official control system, the educational seminar provides information on what to look out for when selling Novel Foods products.
