Based in Greece, Tikun Europe’s medical cannabis greenhouse is a 56,000m2 state-of-the-art production site.

Featuring the latest technology, the greenhouse is the first unit designed to produce medical cannabis in Greece. Cultivation operations are estimated to begin in April 2022. 

The facility, located at the region of Corinth, in Peloponnese, has three distinct units. These include the greenhouse cultivation area, the post-harvest processing area and the area designated for the production and packaging of finished medical cannabis products.

Following the official announcement of the completion of the construction of the greenhouse unit of Tikun Europe’s manufacturing facility, Nikos Beis, TIKUN Europe’s CEO, commented: “The completion of the greenhouse unit of TIKUN Europe’s production facility is a milestone for the company, as well as for the penetration of the medical cannabis in Greece.

“The completion of the specific unit brings us one step closer to the day that the patients in need of medical cannabis will have access to their appropriate medicine.

“The plants cultivated in the greenhouse will be used to create high-quality, innovative medical cannabis products, supported by the scientific heritage and expertise of Tikun Olam.”

Tikun Europe is the first pharmaceutical company active in the field of medical cannabis in Greece. The facility has an annual production capacity of 10 tonnes of dry flower that can be used for the production of various finished dosage forms. Plans for the facility include its possible expansion by 50 per cent, with a subsequent production increase.

The plants will be used to create TIKUN Europe’s innovative and high-quality medical cannabis products. The greenhouse and manufacturing facility complies with EU GACP/GMP standards and local legislation for the cultivation and processing of medical cannabis. 

All process steps are incorporated in the Quality System of the company, ensuring high product quality and safety.

Tikun Europe is in the process of obtaining all the necessary licenses and certifications, which Tikun has said it will apply for the operations license by the end of March 2022, and will operate with high responsibility and respect to the environment and the local community.

The GMP certification and the initiation of operations of the manufacturing facility is scheduled for June 2022.

The company will be launching its range of CBD products; the TIKUN CBD range, produced in a certified Factory in France, and it has recently established its new subsidiary company, Tikun Europe Netherlands BV in Amsterdam. This subsidiary will be taking responsibility for the marketing, sale and distribution of Tikun Europe’s CBD in the European market.
