New Offering For The CBD Industry Developed By The CIC

    PRESS RELEASE

The Cannabis Industry Council (CIC) has developed a new offering for CBD companies, in order to better represent the interests of this important sector.

A new CBD working group has been created by the CIC, which will kick off in early 2023. The group will discuss the key issues facing the CBD industry, conduct supportive activity, and help shape CIC policy positions in this area.

The CIC has also expanded its membership offering, with a range of new benefits, including an annual conference, and access to free training and discounted third-party services. The fees structure has been changed to make the offering more affordable to smaller businesses.

Cannabis Industry Council CEO Mike Morgan-Giles commented:

“The Cannabis Industry Council seeks to represent organisations from right across the industry, so we are pleased to be able to provide additional support and representation to CBD businesses.

“It’s a challenging economic and regulatory climate for the sector, and we anticipate the new CBD working group tackling some of the key challenges, and developing solutions to them.”

Additionally, Paul Tossell, Head of Novel Foods at the Food Standards Agency, will be presenting and holding a Q&A at the next CIC all-member meeting, in London on 24 January. All CIC members are free to attend the event, either in-person or virtually.

There are now nine working groups at the CIC, including for prescription cannabis, hemp, standards, and research. All CIC members can join and participate in the working groups.
