Below is the part of a weekly series of benchmarks provided by the team at Cannabis Benchmarks®.
In February, total Canadian retail cannabis sales dropped a bit month-over-month, to C$150M. However, the downturn in the total was due to the short month, and increasing average daily sales in February point to continued growth.
All of the large provinces saw substantial daily sales gains, apart from Quebec, where a small downturn took place. Ontario led all provinces in sales, but accounted for only a quarter of all volume sold, despite containing 40% of the country’s residents. This indicates that significant room for sales growth exists in Ontario, which should occur as more physical retail locations open.
