For this week’s Job of the Week, Cannabis At Work is recruiting for an Edibles Operations Supervisor in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

The Edibles Supervisor (Production/Packaging) is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safe and effective execution of all duties in accordance with established company policy, procedure, and additional requirements (safety, quality, compliance & KPI’s).

**Note: Regulated Cannabis experience is required.**

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure the safe and effective execution of all duties in accordance with established company policy, procedure, and additional requirements (Safety, Quality, Compliance & KPI’s).
  • Inspect all work zones and equipment regularly and report any/all deviations and/or requests for an order to their Manager within established timelines.
  • Consistently evaluate worker safety, product quality, SOP compliance, and schedule status.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments, including procurement, distribution, and management.
  • Creating and enforcing Job Safety Analysis with Production Manager.
  • Implement and control production schedule of people and materials.
  • Prepare and Maintain Production Reports.
  • Training of new staff and documenting of self and OTJ training.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process, implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.

  • Check and verify employee hours worked on payroll timesheets weekly.
  • Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the shift line.
  • Maintaining Quality Assurance standards of both in-house and Health Canada regulations.
  • Assist and organize production meetings and production standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts monthly as designated by the controller.
  • Providing feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
  • Notify purchasing regarding ingredient inventory levels and ingredients required.
  • Communicate to the Manager work status and subsequent deviation within established timelines.
  • Ensuring staff are accountable for accurate and timely documenting in controlled documents and providing coaching when errors arise. 

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Regulated Cannabis experience is required.
  • 2 to 3 years manufacturing experience in a supervisory or management role required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and through change.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment and can effectively use Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Must have the ability to obtain A/RPIC status as per Health Canada Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations.
